B Tech Distance Education
B. Tech or Bachelor of technology, which is a professional degree course, was being offered only on-campus until recently. But now times have changed for better and even professional engineering degrees like B Tech
could be pursued through correspondence by one and all. This is a boon to working professionals especially as they do not have the time to pursue the regular on-campus course. There are several universities and institutions that offer B Tech
degree course through correspondence .
Admission procedure for the Distance Education program:
The aspiring students should definitely fulfil the eligibility criteria to seek admission to these courses. The candidates should have passed 10+2 with 45% marks. Diploma holders seeking admission to these correspondence courses should submit the proof of their diploma certificate to seek admission. It is important for the students to ensure that the distance education program they are joining is an approved one.
The Admission procedure is pretty simple as aspiring students can download the application form and prospectus online or offline. The application form can be downloaded online and filled up and sent to the institution.
Duration of the course:
The duration of B Tech correspondence course
is the same as that of an on-campus course. The duration of the program is 4 years with 2 semesters each year. Diploma holders willing to pursue a B. Tech correspondence program would be given lateral entry into the 2nd year if they submit the proof of completion of their diploma course.
Fees and course material:
The course materials required for the distance education program would be dispatched to the students on payment of the semester fees. The students would also be given a list of prescribed books for reference to prepare for the course.
However students should only opt for a B Tech degree course through distance education offered by a reputed institution which has proper affiliation by UGC / DEC / Govt. of India.
