List of approved Distance Education universities in India
Distance learning has come a long way and it is helping lot of students achieve qualifications in a easy manner. Admission process is easy and if study centre is efficiently managed one, then students face little or no problem during their study. The process is simplified so that persons with no or little education can also take advantage of distance learning courses.
Distance education institutions offer courses at different levels: Diploma, Certificate, PG Diploma, M.Sc, M.A, M Phil and PhD. These courses cover a wide variety of subjects.
Correspondence educational institutions provide students with following:
- Printed Course materials
- Personal Contact classes at study centres or through online medium or at university campus
- Conduct examinations. Most of the universities now provide facility of "examination on demand". In this candidate can take exam on his chosen date and online or in a study centre.
Distance education is imparted by three kinds of institutions: 1. Departments of Correspondence - Courses in universities and university level institutions, 2. Open Universities, and 3. A large number of private institutions - mostly offering short term vocational courses. There is no territorial restriction for enrolment of students.
